PRACTICAL NURSE PROGRAM

March 26 2025
Thank you to our Board Members, Erika and Matt for attending the PN Photo Opp last Wednesday at the Norquest trailer. It is truly exciting for us to be partnering with Norquest to run the PN Program and even more exciting to think we will run a second PN Program in September!!
Having local instructors has made our programs more viable both to Norquest and the instructors themselves because they bring small town values to the students. This year, we welcome Lynn Walker from Coronation and Lisa Bagshaw from Castor who will be assisting Karyn Nickerson from Norquest with the Labs for the PN Program.
We really appreciate the support from the County of Paintearth No.18 and the Town of Castor and wouldn't have been able to run these programs without them. Thank you to Amanda Simpson at Battle River Innovation Centre for hosting the students and staff in the building during all the Labs.
"Although we didn't elaborate on the financial support from the County of Paintearth No.18 last Wednesday, it is important that everyone knows that the County has provided a bursary of $10,000 ($5000 to be awarded at the end of one year and $5000 to be rewarded upon successful completion of the program) to our only County of Paintearth Resident in the PN Group. Our September group already has several County Residents on the list so they too will be eligible for the Bursary. In addition, the two Workplace Health Care Aides at the Castor Hospital will also receive a Bursary for half of their program ($2000), thanks to the County of Paintearth," Hauck said.
"Finally, I would like to acknowledge my wonderful, cooperative team members here at Paintearth Community Adult Learning Council, Kelsey Seth and Radka Bursikova. Our team works very well together!"
