2025 Election Information
In accordance with the Municipal Government Act, the County of Paintearth will hold a Municipal Election on October 20, 2025, to fill the position of Seven (7) Councillors.
These representatives are elected at large, meaning they represent the entire County of Paintearth across geographical divisions one through seven.
2025 Municipal Election – Important Dates
Nomination Period: January 1st – September 22, 2025
Nomination Day (last opportunity to file nominations): September 22 at 12 pm.
Special Ballot Application: TBD
Advance Voting: TBD
Election Day: October 20, 2025

All nominations must be submitted to the Returning Officer before the nomination deadline. Additional questions can also be directed at the Returning Officer.
The County Office is open for full-time hours: Mon – Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Closed 12:00-12:30 for lunch.
Requests for meetings and submission of nomination packages to the Returning Officer are by appointment only and can be arranged by calling the County Office in advance, 1-403-882-3211. Nomination packages may also be submitted to the Substitute Returning Officer or the Deputy Returning Officer on behalf of the Returning Officer.
