COMMUNITY GARDEN
May 2 2024This year the Environmental Services Department will have a community garden again for 2024. There was a lot of compaction issues and the soil had solonetzic properties so in the fall of 2022 the County brought in sand and compost among other things. In 2023 the County did not charge for the plots as it was a trial year to see how the garden would do and we are happy to report that the soil was much better, and the garden did exceptional.
The garden is almost ready now and those who want a plot are asked to fill out the form and drop it off at the administration office by May 10th or they can call Jeff Cosens, Director of Environmental Services. The County will provide the garden with water via drip irrigation the same as before. All preseason tilling has been completed and all plots will be marked out prior to planting. The County is not responsible for any loss or damages.
